Conformance target
This website is being built and tested to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We also follow the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0) and the accessibility requirements of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, where they apply.
We do not claim Level AAA conformance. Level AAA is not achievable for a website of this kind, and we would rather state honestly what has been tested than publish a claim we cannot support.

How this site is tested
Testing is carried out manually on real assistive technology, not by automated tools alone. Automated testing catches only a portion of real accessibility barriers, so it is used as a first pass and never as the final word.
- Screen readers: JAWS and NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android.
- Keyboard only navigation, including focus order and visible focus indication.
- Colour Contrast Analyser for text and non-text contrast.
- Browser zoom to 200 percent and reflow at 320 CSS pixels.
- Automated checks with axe, Google Lighthouse and WAVE.
Accessibility features on this site
- A skip link to the main content, as the first item in the tab order.
- Semantic landmarks and a logical heading order on every page.
- A visible high contrast focus indicator on every interactive element.
- A high contrast mode and a text size control in the top bar, both of which announce their state to assistive technology and remember your choice.
- Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling at 200 percent zoom.
- Data tables with proper header cells and captions.

Research reports and other documents supplied in PDF form are not yet tested or remediated for accessibility. If you need a report in an accessible format, please contact us and we will provide it in an alternative format.
